Smokey Robinson – $100 million

If it had not been for frontman and founder Smokey Robinson, the Miracles band would not have seen any success. He was also the musical act’s songwriter and producer in chief. He retired and launched a solo career in 1972. He ended up leaving Motown Records in 1990 and wrote a lot of music for other musicians. Did you know that from his uncle, he got his nickname? The older one gave him “Smokey Joe” as his “cowboy name.” For the rest of his life, the name stuck!
