Paul Westerberg – $9 million

In the ’80s, Paul Westerberg was a member of The Replacements, an alt-rock band. Did you know that, while working as a janitor, he joined them? He followed the sound of the music after hearing them perform and talked them into letting him in. The lead singer apparently left after Westerberg told him the others were going to kick him out! This doesn’t sound very ethical to us, but the band has seen much success with him. He began his solo career when the band broke up.

Robert Johnson – $500,000 (estate)

This musician was born in 1911 in Mississippi. He was a pioneer of the blues, but his life has not been very well documented. Despite this, in the form of his music, his legacy lives on. He took part in several recording sessions and produced only 29 songs. He did not, unfortunately, live long enough to see them do well. Following his death, Don Law released them as singles. To great success, other musical artists borrowed his lyrics and guitar style. Bob Dylan and Keith Richards acknowledged his influence on their music, mind you!
