Willie Dixon – $2 million
Most of the time, you will hear the name Willie Dixon alongside that of Muddy Watters. After the Second World War, both of them were iconic figures in Chicago’s blues scene. Anyway, he played bass and guitar and sang with a unique voice. It goes without saying that he was one of the 20th century’s greatest songwriters! “My Babe,” “Hoochie Coochie Man,” and “Spoonful” include some of his works. We’re not shocked to hear that other iconic musicians have covered his songs.
Morrissey – $50 million
Steven Morrissey, better known by his last name, was born to a pair of Irish immigrants. When he began to develop an interest in music, he was just a young boy. He fronted The Nosebleeds, but it was with The Smiths where he found commercial success. With Johnny Marr, the singer formed a band, although he later also went solo. “Your Arsenal,” “Viva Hate,” and “Kill Uncle” are some of his solo works. We are sure that you know just how big an influence he had on indie rock and Britpop.
