If they wanted to succeed and meet their goals, they had to make a lot of money for this charity. That is the reason Jase shaved his beard off. The fundraising pledge was not only going to benefit the foundation, but it was also going to be advantageous for Missy. After all, she had not seen her husband clean-shaven in seven years! He promised that if they raised a thousand hundred dollars in donations, he would cut off the beard. Despite this, Jase was still unsure if they could reach the goal they set.

Even though the majority of the Robertson men had facial hair, one of the brothers did not follow the tradition. Al, the eldest brother, was cleanshaven when the show was airing. Jase also trimmed his own beard a couple of times in the past, primarily between filming, in order to grow it out for the cameras in time. However, the last time he was beardless had been seven years ago.
