Boredom And Frustration
Out of boredom and annoyance at how he had been treated and forced to live, Kahn, the lion, chewed his tail. His back had swollen to the point of being completely swollen. If he hadn’t been saved in time, he would have become ill and died. He also believed he had a bone disorder that made walking difficult. Keahey explained, “When Kahn arrived, his tail end was completely chewed off, and[ he] was skinny.”

Violent Khan
Kahn was abrasive when he first arrived at the rescue center. The In-Sync team struggled to communicate with him and support him. He became very aggressive when it came to feeding time because he did not receive enough food when he lived with his previous owner. In many situations, Kahn was a dangerous lion. Workers had to be extremely cautious when feeding or treating him.
