Kahn was in a bad way when the In-Sync team rescued him. He was underweight, weighing about 100 pounds less than the average lion his age. He’d been beaten and overworked by his master. He was confined to a small cage that influenced his muscle development and vulnerability. He was bothered by his circumstances, so he did something unexpected.

Animals in the film industry are notorious for being exploited and abused. His owners had been extremely oppressive in Kahn’s case. These wild animals were not bred to be show animals, and many of their owners lacked the resources or financial means to properly care for them. Markets frequently supply animals with perishable foods that have been donated or sold, and they are not fed the proper meat. In Kahn’s case, he wished to be rescued, and he was fortunate enough to be given a second chance.
