However advanced technology may be, accidents do still happen. A great example is the Fukushima Daiichi nuclear disaster. Similar to the Chernobyl incident, Fukushima is also off-limits after the nuclear accident, caused by a 15-meter tsunami. Considering the accident was fairly recent, the bilk of these places are still prohibited, especially the area around the nuclear reactors.
