Karen Goes Solo
Joe Osborn knew that Karen was special when she performed in front of him late at night during a garage session. He immediately signed her to his label, Magic Lamp Records. Soon after, he would also snap up Richard under Lightup Music, the publishing branch. Karen was able to record and release a single with the help of the other Richard Carpenter Trio members. Unfortunately, it did not become successful and she was dropped by the label.
