Right now, the American SUV market is extremely competitive and for good reason. SUVs are definitely, albeit slowly, taking the place of minivans and wagons because SUVs are very practical, offering a good amount of space and excellent safety options. The market has definitely become a battle place for companies that want a piece of the action, no matter if for full-sized, mid-sized, compact, subcompact, or crossover SUVs. Right now, more than 100 SUV types are for sale in the United States and we will be exploring some of the lesser known options that have slipped under the radar even though they have great qualities.
Lincoln Navigator
The Lincoln Navigator is a domestic SUV yet it doesn’t sell too well. The premium SUV just sold nearly 2,500 units, but since the new Navigator has been released, an increase in sales can be expected. In spite of this, the Navigator is still not that good a seller but this model received great reviews from the press and the consumers, mostly for its safety features. We don’t really know how well the next Navigator will do on the market, but in the meantime, you can find some great deals on the older model.
Jeep Compass
One of the major brands that shaped the SUV we have today is Jeep, so it’s not surprising they are the leaders in making one. Most of the reviews the Compass received from the press and consumers were positive, yet it still has rather low sales figures considering Jeep is a brand from the US with a band of followers in the country. It saw a 58% drop in sales figures and sold just more than 8,500 units in Q1 of 2017. The new Compass will be arriving soon to replace its older model along with the Patriot, so the numbers are more understandable and we suggest you look out for deals Jeep might offer.
