Janet Jackson — $175 million
Janet, the youngest of the Jacksons, had her start performing on the 1976 “The Jacksons” variety show. In the ’70s, she appeared on more TV shows, starting her music career in 1982 by signing a contract with A&M. Jackson signed a multi-million dollar, record-breaking contract with Virgin in 1991. She developed her pop icon image from there on out and continued acting in several films as well. After diva Mariah Carey, Billboard named her the second most successful artist of the 1990s.
