Walter Becker – $20 million
Greatest Hits: Bad Sneakers, Do It Again
Steely Dan’s co-songwriter and founder was Walter Becker. For jazz/rock bands, he played guitar and bass, too. He met his co-founder, Donald Fagen, at Bard College when they were students. They decided to start Steely Dan, and then they relocated to Los Angeles. Following the breakup, Becker moved to Hawaii, became a record producer, and later became part of the band China Crisis. Steely Dan was reformed in 1993 by Fagen.
