Joe Strummer is an influential punk rock figure. He is the founder of the band The Clash, which was inducted into the Rock Hall in 2003. Strummer collaborated with such bands as The Mescaleros, Pogues, Latino Rockabilly, 101ers, and more. He also had a solo career, wrote television and film scores, made radio plays, and became a major performer for an activist organization, Rock Against Racism.
