Richard first had to evaluate the condition of the structure and figure out the elements that he could still salvage. After inspecting the place, he took note that the majority of the wood there had rotten over the years. He figured out that he needed to tear down most of it and then rebuild it from scratch. Despite this, he hoped to save some of the wood he would retrieve from the structure to retain some of the original structure.
