When the children went to meet the president in 2001, they didn’t really understand exactly who they were meeting. The parents dressed them for the occasion and hoped that they would behave appropriately. When the time came, President Bush took a great interest in the kids, and spoke with them. Some of them were excited, and others were ready to go home. They were just kids after all.
