Besides that, all members of the Royal Family must pack a set of black clothes when they travel outside of the country. Why? If anyone dies, they can easily come back and attend the wedding in proper attire. The rule first came about when George VI died, and the Queen was on a trip to Africa. She didn’t bring black clothes to change into, so she was late.
