Before performing the magnet test, Steven and Viola already had a feeling of confirmation that the rock was really a meteor. In their case, if it was a meteor, it should have attracted the magnet. However, they just became more confused and even more nervous when they saw the result of the magnet test. The rock and the magnet did not attract at all, meaning that it was not a meteor. After realizing that they could not think of anything to do with the rock anymore, they called for help.
