Clare was reaching her boiling point and she was having a hard time remaining calm. She said to Mrs. Duncan that her dress was appropriate and that she hadn’t even enjoyed dancing at her own prom. Clare claimed, “I never signed any documentation agreeing to adhere to any sort of dress code, and the dress code that was verbally communicated to me was followed to the letter.” As soon as Clare’s friends started to gather around, the teacher ordered them away.
