All of the guys in the Robertson family grew out long yet distinct beards as part of the outdoor southern lifestyle they had. Their facial hair has become their trademark and serves as a vital part of the duck-hunting brand. The beards have reached a popularity level so high that none of them thought about shaving it off. That is the reason so many fans were shocked when Jase made the pledge to shave it all off.

The show features a lot of the members of this tight-knight clan. Phil Robertson and Miss Kay, his wife, walked down the aisle when she was only a young girl of 15. Together, they have four sons between them: Alan, Jase, Jep, and Willie. Each of their kids has a family of his own, but they are all involved in the family duck-hunting enterprise in one way or another. Many of the grandchildren are also big parts of the television show. Willie’s daughter has even appeared on Dancing With the Stars in the past! No matter how close they are, we can only guess what the others thought about Jase’s plan with his beard.
