Originally the brilliant Lauren Holly auditioned out for the role of Caitlin “Kate” Todd, however producers felt that Holly would fit better as the director Jenny Shepard. Fans can agree that the producer were right on the money here.

Speaking of Kate, Sasha Alexander played the part (brilliantly if we may add) and when [spoiler alert!] she was killed in season two, fans believed that it was the producers who wanted her gone. In actual fact, Alexander asked to leave because she felt the hours they worked were too exhausting.
