In 2007, the show creator Donald P. Bellisario retired after bad tension with the NCIS star Mark Harmon. We know it’s wild, but that’s what happened. While he stopped working with the show, he would still serve as its executive producer. Although he did not have any creative or executive involvement with NCIS ever since the altercation.
