From 2003 NCIS has been running, which means that it has 350 episodes and 15 seasons to date. Not many shows can say the same. Ignoring statistics for a minute, it is the show’s characters, storylines and overall concept that has fans hooked. ‘JAG’ Inspired ‘NCIS’

You may be aware that NCIS is a spin-off of the legal drama about the U.S. Navy, JAG. But did you know that NCIS and JAG were both created by Donald P. Bellisario? Bellisario also wrote episodes for the hit series Magnum, P.I. starring Tom Selleck so we’re not surprised NCIS is such a hit.

Say My Name

In order to help viewers, the show was originally titled Navy NCIS. However Donald P. Bellisario strongly disagreed with the name and urged CBS to change it. I mean, it is redundant. The show was known by this name for the entire first season. Later, the “Navy” was dropped.
