When filming that epic final fight in Mission: Impossible 2, Tom Cruise and the stunt team trained incredibly hard in order to make their moves as realistic as possible. That includes swinging a knife which stops just millimeters from his eyeball. However, when the stuntman told Cruise not to pull back during the final kick of the sequence, he didn’t. Instead he planted his foot squarely onto his partner’s jaw. Director John Woo ended up using the entire shot, including Cruises shocked reaction.
