Hiding From Hunters
Plucas realized that hunters must have killed the poor baby’s mother. Thus, he concluded that the calf took shelter on his farm. She must have been too tired to muster on. Not only was the young moose tired, but she was clearly injured. This whole story moved Plucas. He even commented to The Dodo that, “The first sight of her was heartbreaking.”

With no one left to care for her, Plucas decided to make a big move. Not only was the moose petrified, but she was hurt and obviously, a vulnerable target. Therefore, he made the decision to take care of her, so predators couldn’t attack her. However, before we can tell you about the enormous impact this decision had on both of them and others, we need to introduce a similar Lithuanian man living across the world.
