Did you know that Dolly Parton launched a book distribution company named “The Imagination Library?” Apparently, her father’s illiteracy inspired her to get this project in motion. The drive began in the year 1995,u and books were donated to kids under 5 years old. The goal of the program was to introduce the wonders of reading to young children, so that they can start the lifelong habit!

Dolly is actually a highly successful businesswoman herself. During the early moments of her career, she launched Velvet Apple Music. It allowed to own and publish all of her songs by herself. Moreover, she also launched a record label named Dolly Records in 2007. When the label first started out, she was the only one who appeared on the label and she did all the branding on her own.
