Out Of Hope
After a couple of hours, the baby elephant was starting to fade quickly. The heat did not make the situation better whatsoever. It looked like the calf was doomed. The adults continued to circle the hole. Even though they could not stand what was happening, they still refused to leave. The baby elephant closed its eyes when they heard what sounded like a scream of anguish.

This gave them the glimmer of hope they needed. The adult elephants let out warning signals, and it is an incredibly heartbreaking sound. If you were near the area, it was hard to ignore such a noise. The elephants were distraught and made the trumpet-like sound together. As they saw the youngest member of the herd succumb to death, the noise only grew louder and louder.
