Laurie Metcalf, who also happens to be a Roseanne veteran, has appeared on The Big Bang Theory playing Mary Cooper, Sheldon’s mother who was God-fearing. In 1993, when Laurie was still on Roseanne, she had an onscreen boyfriend played by Matt Roth and was in an abusive relationship with him. On the series Star Trek: The Next Generation, he played the role of the blind Commander Geordi La Forge, but on The Big Bang Theory he played himself. LeVar was invited by Sheldon via Twitter to “a gathering of scientists”. LeVar married make-up artist Stephanie Cozart in 1992 and they are still together up to this day. She now works on the CBS show The Talk while he hosts Reading Rainbow on PBS.
