The following day, Mattress Warehouse released a statement that said, “This filing of Chapter 11 bankruptcy has no bearing on the Mattress Warehouse (sleephappens.com) organization or their relationships with their vendors.” This is because it shared the same name as a subsidiary of Innovative Mattress Solutions. In January 2019, USA Today said the company will likely shutter 142 stores.
