Su was not the only one who thought Little Black was scary. In the beginning, the rest of the family thought it was amazing to have such a big dog. However, they could not help but feel scared and confused when they came to see him in the backhouse and found him growling and standing up. The entire family also came to realize that he was no dog: “The more he grew, the more like a bear he looked and acted.”
