So, what exactly is his diagnosis? If you must know, Bonedigger has a metabolic bone disease, which is behind his constant exhaustion and health issues. It gives him ongoing health problems, induces chronic pain and renders him weak. He now knows how to handle the disease, although he would not have gotten to that point if it were not for Milo. When the lion is feeling ill, down or even incapacitated, Milo never fails to be there to motivate him and raise his spirits. Their friendship came about for a special reason. If Milo was not around, we do not know how Bonedigger would be doing. He also likes to be around Mr. Reinke and acts friendly with the other dachshunds at the animal park. However, no one could ever replace Milo in his heart!
