Fantasia Barrino
Or just Fantasia as she prefers. She was the winner of the third season of Idol and after her win, she released her debut single, “I Believe,” which debuted at number one on the Billboard Hot 100. She also released her debut album, Free Yourself, which became certified Platinum by the RIAA and garnered Barrino three Grammy nominations in 2006. Her 2010 single “Bittersweet,” won her a Grammy for Best Female R&B Vocal Performance. She’s also starred on Broadway and was inducted into the North Carolina Music Hall of Fame.
Clay Aiken
Your runner up of the second season of Idol, folks, has been something of a busy bee. He’s released a few albums, starred in various TV shows, performed on Broadway and he’s a published author. Then in 2014, Aiken announced his plan to run for Congress in North Carolina’s 2nd congressional district. He won the Democratic primary held on May 6, 2014, but lost to Republican incumbent Renee Ellmers in the general election.
