One of the most dramatic moments of the show was when Paul Sr. fired his own son! Which then domino-ed into tons of legal issues. TLC reminded the boys that they were BOTH required to star in the show so even if one remained, the show was over. However Paul Sr. refused to cooperate, forcing TLC to file a notice that production was canceled. This action spooked Sr. so he rehired his son, but as a contractor, and filming picked back up.
