Although they’ve been together for 34 years and show no signs of stopping, Goldie and Kurt aren’t married – and don’t really care for the idea. After all, they’ve been together more than three decades and have raised a beautiful family together – so really, what’s the point? Their kids seem to agree, and use other occasions to celebrate their amazing parents.

While some couples might not be able to remain together for so long without the commitment of marriage, Goldie actually thinks being unmarried has helped her and Kurt stay strong. In an interview with Vanity Fair, she even claimed that she and her longtime partner would have been “long divorced” if they had tied the knot! We don’t believe that for a minute, but her logic does make sense – she thinks that “there’s something psychological about not being married because it gives you the freedom to make decisions one way or the other. For me, I chose to stay. Kurt chose to stay, and we like the choice.”
