What Could Have Been
Although there were only 3 seasons and 3 films of Gilligan’s Island, Schwartz had some big ideas for a fourth film. He thought the plot could work around an idea of nuclear war. Well, the castaways would believe they were the last humans remaining. So, Mary Ann would marry Gilligan, while Ginger and the Professor would marry each other. Both sets would have children. When Gilligan and Mary Ann’s son turned 20 years old, he would sail into the world and discover it wasn’t destroyed. All the characters listened on the radio, but just before the disclaimer came on Gilligan broke the radio.
